Life is complicated: Seeking help doesn’t have to be.
I believe in providing practical support for spiritual and mental health. I approach therapy from a Christian worldview that each human being is created and loved by God, whether or not this is explored in therapy. With ten years’ experience working as a counselor, I have helped people through anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, grief, spiritual/church/ministry concerns and more.
Instead of a “one-size-fits-all” approach, I consider each person’s needs and use a client-centered combination of attachment, insight-oriented and cognitive behavioral concepts. Working collaboratively, I can help to identify past and present cognitive, behavioral and relational habits that contribute to distress and then help to make changes in those areas. I work with people from any religious or non-religious background. Christian biblical principles can be integrated into the therapy process for clients wishing to add this to their journey.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State (61575463). I have a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling, completed in 2014, and am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I have completed training in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Crisis training (Skills for Psychological Recovery) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have also completed a three-year spiritual formation training through the Renewing Life Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I have 15 years combined experience in Christian youth, women’s and military ministries. I am the wife of a retired military officer and mother of two adult children. My husband and I enjoy hiking, traveling and spending time outdoors.
