MEREDITH BARBIERI | MA, LMHCA
Hi, I’m Meredith!
As an art therapist, I work from a relational and compassionate approach, offering clients a safe place to navigate life’s challenges. It is my joy and privilege to help build a framework for clients as they pursue their goals, knowing they are not alone. You do not have to be an “artist” to benefit from art therapy. I believe that we were created to create - whether that is in the process of art making, crafting healthy relationships, or recreating thoughts and behaviors to best support the needs a client has in building the life they wish to live.
I am here to offer support and hope for you as a client dealing with depression, anxiety, and body image issues. In addition to art therapy, I use a cognitive-behavioral approach in my work with clients. I have experience in working with teens with eating disorders and enjoy working with clients finding themselves experiencing struggles related to eating disorders.
My foundation and approach to life is built upon my own personal Christian faith. I believe this also gives me empathy and renewed strength in serving others in my professional space. My home life includes a husband and son, two pets, and leisure time spent on personal art projects and crafts.
My background includes an undergraduate degree in Health Coaching. I completed my Masters in Art Therapy at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon with an Eating Disorder Specialization. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the State of Washington (MC61470338). I am currently supervised by Dr. Bart Fowler, M.A. Psy.D., a licensed psychologist in Washington (PY60153263) and in Oregon (1297). I would love to hear from you and see if I can be a good fit in helping you work towards your goals of health, healing, and wholeness!
I abide by Washington state law and ethics pertaining to counselors and American Counseling Association code of ethics.
