Hi, I’m Laura! I’m happy that you’re here.

I am available for in-person counseling with children, teenagers, and adults in Vancouver and Ridgefield, Washington. I am also available for teletherapy with adult residents of Kootenai County, Idaho.

My priority is to provide a welcoming and compassionate space for each of my clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relational distress, low self-worth, difficult life events and transitions, or whatever challenges they might be facing.

I use respectful and empathetic conversation to help my clients process and clarify their thoughts, emotions, experiences, beliefs, values, and goals. I often teach my clients mindfulness and grounding skills to help them cope with stress, communication and boundary skills to help them thrive in their relationships, and self-compassion skills to increase their inner resilience.

My primary modalities are person-centered counseling and acceptance and commitment therapy. I use play therapy, sand-tray, and expressive art in my work with children, and I weave many of these creative and expressive elements into my work with teenagers and adults, too. I believe that each client deserves a counseling approach that is tailored to their developmental stage, personality, life story, and goals for counseling.

I would be honored to walk alongside of you as you seek to make positive changes in your life.

I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling, with a Child and Adolescent specialization, at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington (MC61229511), a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho (LPC-8372), a member of the American Counseling Association, and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I am supervised by Dr. Bart Fowler, M.A., Psy.D., a licensed psychologist in Washington (PY60153263).
